History of Rhenium Alloys

Founded in 1966 in Elyria, Ohio (near Cleveland), Rhenium Alloys, Inc. began with a single product line: the highest-quality fine gauge rhenium wire available. Since then, the company has expanded its refractory metal product offerings and developed new materials and tools. Throughout its growth, Rhenium Alloys has maintained its commitment to product quality, customer service, and scientific excellence. From simple rods and tubes for U.S. refractory applications to advanced powders and alloys for global markets, Rhenium Alloys is recognized as a leader in refractory metals manufacturing and research.

Today, the company manufactures wire, rod, bar, ribbon, foil, sheet, and plate, as well as elements, filaments, lamps, and specialty fabricated products. All products are MADE IN THE USA. In addition, Rhenium Alloys is an innovator in rhenium metal powder production and holds several patents for spherical rhenium powders and alloyed powder products. The company also produces specialty fabricated products for high-tech applications, including NASA’s space shuttle programs. Its components are used in temperature measurement instruments, missile guidance and propulsion systems, high-energy electron tubes, jet engines, long-life X-ray tubes, and geological dating equipment. Additionally, the company supplies products used in the manufacture of petrochemicals and semiconductors.
